Account & Settings
Manage your Themys account, subscription, credits, and billing from the settings page.
Accessing Your Account
Navigate to themys.ca/settings or click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Account.
Profile Settings
Editing Your Profile
Your profile includes basic information associated with your Themys account:
To update:
1. Go to Settings > Profile
2. Click Edit
3. Update the fields you want to change
4. Click Save
Profile Picture
Profile pictures are pulled from your OAuth provider (Google or Apple) if you signed in with a social account.
Subscription Management
Viewing Your Plan
Your current plan is displayed at the top of the Settings > Subscription page:
Upgrading
1. Go to Settings > Subscription
2. Click Upgrade
3. Select your desired plan
4. Enter payment details via Stripe checkout
5. The upgrade takes effect immediately
Your billing cycle starts on the upgrade date. If you're upgrading mid-cycle from a paid plan, you'll receive a prorated credit.
Downgrading
1. Go to Settings > Subscription
2. Click Change Plan
3. Select a lower tier
4. Confirm the change
Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You keep your current plan's benefits until then.
Cancellation
To cancel your subscription entirely:
1. Go to Settings > Subscription
2. Click Cancel Subscription
3. Confirm the cancellation
Your account reverts to the Free plan at the end of the billing cycle. Your scan history is preserved.
Credit Balance
Viewing Credits
Your credit balance is shown on the Settings page and in the extension popup. Credits are used when you exceed your daily scan limit.
How Credits Work
- Each scan that exceeds your daily limit consumes 1 credit
- Credits roll over and don't expire at the end of the month
- Credits are consumed after the daily limit is exhausted
Purchasing Credits
1. Go to Settings > Credits
2. Select a credit pack:
3. Complete checkout via Stripe
4. Credits are added to your account immediately
Invoice History
View all past payments and download receipts:
1. Go to Settings > Billing
2. The invoice list shows date, amount, status, and description
Invoices include subscription payments (monthly plan charges) and credit pack purchases.
Delete Account
To permanently delete your Themys account:
1. Go to Settings
2. Scroll to the Danger Zone section
3. Click Delete Account
4. Type your email address to confirm
5. Click Permanently Delete
What gets deleted:- Your profile and authentication data
- All scan history and results
- Saved preferences and settings
- Any remaining credits (no refund)
- You are signed out immediately
- The deletion is processed within 24 hours
- You cannot recover the account after deletion
- If you have an active subscription, it is cancelled immediately
Sign Out
To sign out of Themys:
- Web app: Click your profile icon > Sign Out
- Extension: Click the Themys icon > Click Sign Out in the popup
Signing out removes your local authentication token. Your account and data remain on the server.
